The University of Khartoum Human Rights Center, was formally established in November 2014. It is an independent academic center based at the Faculty of Law at the University of Khartoum in Sudan. The center seeks to contribute to furthering human rights and the promotion of humanitarian norms through teaching, research, publications, capacity-building and training for all stakeholders including civil society organizations and government institutions. The center’s vision is ‘the promotion of human rights and humanitarian norms through education’. The center enjoys academic freedoms and is currently conducting research studies with international organizations and UN agencies on topics such as: statelessness, human rights and governance, rights to health and disability rights.
